FOR TEENS
XZone (our 7th and 8th grade Jr. High Youth Ministry)
Every Tuesday (7:00-8:30 p.m.) during the school year we host our large-group worship nights, easily averaging over 100 students. We strive to clearly communicate the Gospel, invite friends regardless of church affiliation, and explore the different aspects of worship. We usually incorporate high-energy games and videos to make it extra special.
Every Sunday (9:30-10:30 a.m.) we have Sunday School in room 2019. This group (that averages ~ 40 students) primarily focuses on Bible understanding. We spend a full hour learning the basics of Jesus’ life, and discipleship through scriptural study. This is where the building blocks of our faith are laid.
Sunday Nights (5:30-7:00 p.m.) we have Small Groups. They do not meet every week, but instead have 5-week semesters throughout the school year. This is so students can sign-up for a small group and be part as their schedules permit without having to make a year-long commitment. Please check our calendars for when the next semester begins. Our goals include discipleship, spiritual accountability, and prayerful-attention. We try to keep groups to 12 students or less in order to maintain a mentor-relationship with their leader.
We have a variety of Retreats & Mission opportunities. We believe that the most spiritual growth happens when you can leave your regular environment (computers, cell-phones, etc) to focus on God for multiple days in a row. We usually have an affordable Fall weekend-event (September), an impressive high-quality Panama City Beach retreat (January), and a summer week-long mission trip to Kentucky (June). In the past, the Holy Spirit has shown up in dramatic ways to touch those who attend.
NOTE: Please be aware that we would love parent involvement. We are not trying to replace the parents as the main spiritual teacher of their household, but see ourselves as a tool to reinforce what you are teaching at home. XZONE does not simply entertain the youth we are entrusted with. We are actively challenging our students to become young disciples. Everything we do is for the glory of Jesus Christ.
