Hi! My name is Doug Thrasher and I have been the Senior Pastor here at Hillside since 2006. I am a native Georgian, having grown up in Decatur, Ga., and have served churches in North Georgia for the past 31 years. I am married to Debbie, who I was blessed to meet while we were students at the University of Georgia (Go Dogs!). We have been married since 1976 and have two children. Our daughter, Brianne, is married to Dan Miller and is a school counselor in Myrtle Beach. Our son, Jordan, is married to Meredith and lives in Decatur where he is attending Candler School of Theology at Emory University. I also attended Candler, graduating in 1979. I later completed a Doctor of Ministry degree at McCormick Theological Seminary in 1994. I am a big sports fan and love to play golf. Debbie also loves golf and tennis and works part time for the Cherokee Library doing special children’s programs. God has laid upon my heart a calling to connect people to Jesus Christ. I seek to do that each and every day. I am thankful to have the opportunity to serve God here at Hillside. It is a great church. I look forward to meeting each and every one of you.
