MEMBERSHIP
We are glad that you are interested in membership at Hillside Church. There are several ways that we receive new members into this church.
By Profession of Faith – to accept Jesus Christ as one’s Savior and Lord. We repent of our sins and seek to live as followers of Jesus. This is the beginning point of our Christian life. Baptism would follow this step for those not already baptized.
By Letter of Transfer – to move one’s membership from another Christian church. We write the church and take care of all correspondence. You would renew your Christian vows at this time.
By Reaffirmation of Faith – to renew one’s vows. This is for someone desiring to join that has been without a church membership for an extended time or was baptized, but never joined a church.
In addition – those persons wishing to join Hillside need to attend the Hillside Membership class before joining. This class, offered throughout the year, will cover the following topics.
- Ministries and Missions
- Methodism and Sacraments
- Vision of Hillside and Every Member in Ministry (EMIM)
Upcoming classes are listed on the online Bulletin Board and advertised in the Sunday bulletin. You may also contact the church office find out when the next class will be offered.
- Saturday classes meet 9:15 a.m. -12:30 p.m.
- Sunday classes meet 5:00 to 7:30 p.m.
- All classes meet upstairs in the adult Sunday School hallway in Room 2303 unless otherwise noted in the Sunday bulletin.
Reservations are not required but are encouraged.
A nursery is always provided but reservations for childcare are required.
