Ministry Spotlight: Cherokee Veterans Community

The Men of Hillside would like to introduce a new ministry in the Cherokee County area. The Cherokee Veterans Community is operating fully within Cherokee County for all veterans form all eras. Highlighted information on Cherokee Veterans Community is below; however, please visit: for a deeper understanding of what the ministry is all about.

You might be asking: What is the Cherokee Veterans Community all about?

  • It is about reaching into the lives of some of the 17,000 veterans living in Cherokee County.
  • It is about reaching not only Veterans but Active Duty Military, Reservist and Retired Military man and women and their families.
  • It is about forming Veteran Communities that reach out to, and into, each other’s lives to help deal with the pressures and struggles of everyday living.

One vital component of Cherokee Veterans  Community's ministry is called Vet Life Community. This community group meets every Thursday night at 6:30 at First Baptist Woodstock. This is a veteran to veteran group for males only at this time; however, female and family groups will be starting in the very near future. Cherokee Veterans Community is actively seeking a female veteran peer coach so that this component of the Vet Life Community can get started. If you feel lead and do this please contact Tim King so he can help you get the training needed.

Every day during the week there is a Men's LifeGroup meeting somewhere either at church or a different location. These are held at different time both during the day and evening. If you want to start a deeper relationship with other men in the church and walk beside them and live life with them, please contact Blake Roberts or click the link below.

On Wednesday nights starting at 7:00 p.m. in room 2209 we have a MEN'S VIDEO BIBLE STUDY with no homework or required reading. We listen to sermon topics delivered by top pastor and speaker from around the country. Just stop by and start enjoying great fellowship as we learn ways to have deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. Any questions contact David Snyder
