These are notes for the LEADERSHIP TEAM of XZONE:

s

(#1) XZONE exists to glorify Jesus Christ, and draw 7th & 8th graders

close to Him. It is not about "us" or for our fun & glory.

(#2) We are leaders first, and friends second.

These kids have 100 other friends, but very few people to direct them.

(#3) We lead by example. Please do not wear inappropriate clothing;

or bring food/drinks into Celebration Hall. Please demonstrate worship.

Realize that students will find & read your MySpace/Facebook.

(#4) It is requested that you communicate if you can not attend.

(#5) If you are over 18, you need to fill out a background check.

If you are over 25, you can drive the church van with a license on file.

(#6) Try to show up 30-minutes early & stay late to help with set-up, etc.

(#7) It is expected that you are actively praying & pursuing your own

relationship with Jesus. Worship, Small Groups, & Study all help.

(#8) "Safe Sanctuary" policy reads that you don't touch students

inappropriately, or meet with them 1-on-1 alone in private.

For more details, ask me for a policy notebook.

(#9) Please greet students as much as possible;

and invite them deeper into the worship-circle.

Introduce them to other leaders & friends.

(#10) Do not worship the ministry!

Worship Jesus. Too many of us (including me) think that XZONE

has to happen "this way" or "that way" to be cool.

We care more about our program than kid's lives.

The fact is: we might have to get uncomfortable every once in a while;

and do things very differently than "normal."

(#11) For the upcoming year (2009-2010), we will start the application

process on March 19th, and request that you try to return them by April.

Our XZONE youth-leadership will be exclusively 11th & 12th graders.

9th & 10th graders are encouraged to lead Rising Tide programs with Kate Morris;

or be trained on the sound-board and electronics.

(#12) Youth-Leaders will be asked to attend at least 2 out of 3 training events:

Sunday, June 14th  /  Sunday, July 5  /  Tuesday, August 4, 2009.

(#13) Youth-Leaders will be asked to read a photocopy packet provided you;

It will include excepts from:

(#1) “Worship, a Way of Life” by Kavanaugh, chapter 1, “What is Worship?” (pages 24-41).

(#2) “The Pursuit of Holiness” by Bridges, chapter 1, “Holiness is for you” (pages 10-20).

(#3) “The Purpose Driven Life” by Warren, chapters 17 “A Place to Belong” (pages 130-137), and “How Real Servants Act” (pages 257-264)

(#14) Youth-leaders will be asked to be self-starters.

If think up a great video-skit idea, or see a need on Tuesday nights;

go ahead & pursue it - don't wait to be asked.

(#15) Pray. Rely on Jesus. and THANK YOU!

* Guidelines/rules for Down-Low XZONEs:

(These are the special-guest nights, where worship is priority.)

(#1)  All speakers & bands need to give 2-weeks notice

of presenting on-stage, including song lists, or written testimonies.

(#2)  A speaker or band can not present on stage more than once

every three months in order to give everyone an opportunity.

(This does not apply to our house worship band).

(#3) Most Down-Low XZONEs will have a theme;

and we ask all presenters to try to fit into that theme.

(#4) The goal is to minister to 7th & 8th graders.

Please do not invite non-junior-highers to come

to XZONE without permission.
