Hi, my name is Steve Brooks and I am the Sr. High Youth Minister.  My wife, Dawn, two children, Brandon and Ashley, and I have been serving the Lord at Hillside UMC since July of 1997.  What a blessing it has been serving the youth of our community here. We absolutely LOVE being a part of Hillside because this is clearly a place where the Holy Spirit is truly active and at work – in the staff, church body, and our community!

I accepted Jesus when I was eight and he has grown me in my relationship with Him ever since.  God called me into youth ministry in 1988 and I received my Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary.  I currently spend time in the Word and on my knees in order to lead this challenging and rewarding ministry!  I praise God every day for the incredible adult leaders He has brought to this ministry from the church – they truly help this ministry to be what it is! I have been so humbled by how God has orchestrated our youth ministry and used it to CHANGE LIVES!

Hi! My name is Dawn Brooks.  Yes, I am Steve’s wife.  I volunteered to work with the youth at Hillside from 1997 to 2007.  I came on staff at Hillside as the associate Sr. High youth minister in 2007.  It has been a joy to serve the Lord at Hillside in the youth ministry all these years. 

I accepted Jesus when I was in junior high, but it wasn’t until my sophomore year in college that I totally surrendered my life to Him.  Steve and I married after we graduated from college in 1987.  After marriage I went to graduate school and received a masters and specialist degree in school psychology.  While Steve was at Asbury Seminary I ministered to college students at Asbury College, where I was a resident director.

We have two wonderful children, Brandon and Ashley.
